The Program and Partnerships Manager will play a crucial role in establishing and
expanding the Atlantic Student Development Alliance’s presence in Nova Scotia. This role
involves developing strategic partnerships, coordinating programs, and managing relationships
with various stakeholders, including employers, post-secondary institutions, service providers,
and students and recent graduates. The manager will ensure the successful implementation of
programs tailored to the needs of Nova Scotia’s job market, facilitating smooth transitions for
students and graduates into employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partnership Development:
• Develop and nurture new partnerships with employers, post-secondary institutions,
other service providers, and ecosystem partners.
• Build and manage relationships through regular engagement activities such as meetings,
events, and follow-up communications.
Program Coordination:
• Gather and analyze data to inform program development, implementation, and assess
the impact.
• Coordinate and implement programs and services in Nova Scotia, ensuring alignment
with the organizational goals and regional needs.
• Facilitate job placements for students and graduates by collaborating with employers
and other stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Engage with diverse stakeholders including community organizations, educational
institutions, and government agencies.
• Develop tailored communication strategies to address specific regional needs and
maintain positive relationships.
Project Management:
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and
organizational objectives.
• Utilize project management methodologies to ensure efficient and effective program
delivery.
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a
related field.
• Master’s degree is an asset but not required.
Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, partnership
development, or a related role.
• Proven experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating and implementing programs or services,
preferably in the education or employment sector.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders including employers, educational
institutions, community organizations, and government agencies.
• Experience in project management, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple
tasks and projects simultaneously.
Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and
influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to develop
tailored communication strategies.
• Analytical skills to gather and analyze data to inform program development and assess
impact.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and organizational
objectives.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with the job market and employment trends in Nova Scotia is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant
software.
Personal Attributes:
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
• Strong commitment to the mission and goals of the Atlantic Student Development
Alliance.
• Ability to travel frequently within Halifax and nearby areas for partnership development.
Additional Requirements:
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for travel within
the region.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by program activities
and stakeholder meetings.
Geographic Focus:
• The role requires physical reporting in Halifax office of The Atlantic Student
Development Alliance, with frequent travel within Halifax and nearby areas identified as
high priority for partnership development.
Reporting Structure:
• The Program and Partnerships Manager will report to the Executive Director and will
work closely with the PEI-based team.
Compensation and Engagement Period:
• This position offers $25-$30 per hour based on experience, on contract employment
from August 2024 to March 30, 2025.
