Responsibilities of the Role:

  • **Collaboration with Founder:**Understand the vision, goals, and requirements of Multivent's Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

  • **Development Leadership:**Lead the development of the MVP based on outlined features and functionalities. Conduct regular code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure MVP quality and functionality.

  • **Technology Stack Management:**Select appropriate technologies and tools, considering scalability and efficiency. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in relevant technologies.

  • **Collaboration:**Work closely with the founder to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Collaborate with team members to integrate various components into a functional system.

  • **Agile Development:**Follow agile development methodologies for a flexible and iterative development process. Provide regular updates on MVP development progress, identifying challenges and proposing solutions.

  • **Problem Solving:**Address technical issues promptly, proposing effective solutions. Contribute to discussions on optimizing and enhancing MVP features.

  • **Documentation:**Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and workflows. Ensure the codebase is well-documented and understandable for future development.

  • **Quality Assurance:**Collaborate with the founder to define and execute testing strategies. Conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve bugs or issues.

  • **Timeline Management:**Work within specified timelines and contribute to meeting project milestones. Provide realistic time estimates for tasks and features.

  • **Continuous Improvement:**Seek opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the development process. Proactively identify areas for improvement and propose optimizations.

  • **Communication:**Maintain open communication with the founder and team members. Participate in team meetings and discussions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in leading the development of Minimum Viable Products.
  • Strong expertise in relevant technologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with documentation best practices.
  • Quality assurance and testing proficiency.
  • Strong timeline management skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.

Start Date, Hourly Wage, and Duration of Contract:

  • Start Date: January 22, 2024
  • Hourly Wage: $20-25 CAD per hour
  • Duration of Contract: 3 months

Funding Information:

This role is funded, in part, by the Black Founders Network (BFN) Career Advancement Program supported by the Ministry of Citizenship & Multiculturalism and their Black Youth Action Plan (BYAP) which works towards eliminating systemic, race-based disparities by increasing opportunities for Black youth across the province.
