Job Title: Community Engagement & Events Lead
Job Description:
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Community Engagement & Events Lead to join our team. This role is essential for fostering meaningful connections within the local Black community and ensuring that FBC’s initiatives, events, and advocacy efforts resonate with and support community members. The ideal candidate will be skilled in event planning, community outreach, and partnership building, with a strong commitment to elevating the voices of Black Canadians.
Key Responsibilities:

Community Outreach:
- Develop and execute strategies to engage the local Black community in FBC’s initiatives, events, and advocacy efforts.
- Build relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to ensure FBC’s work is relevant, inclusive, and impactful.

Event Planning & Coordination:
- Organize and coordinate a variety of community events, such as meetings, workshops, forums, and awareness campaigns, to highlight issues affecting Black Canadians at both local and national levels.
- Ensure events are well-executed, engaging, and aligned with FBC’s mission and goals.

Partnership Building:
- Cultivate and manage partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and leaders to co-host, sponsor, or support events that further FBC’s mission.
- Leverage these partnerships to amplify FBC’s reach and impact within the community.

Feedback & Impact Measurement:
- Collect and analyze feedback from community members after events to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
- Use feedback to continuously refine event strategies and ensure they are meeting the needs and expectations of the community.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in community engagement, event planning, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the Black Canadian community, its challenges, and opportunities.
- Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to plan and execute events with attention to detail and a focus on inclusivity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with a passion for community empowerment.

Experience:
- Proven experience in community engagement, event planning, or a related field.
- Experience working with diverse communities, particularly the Black Canadian community, is highly preferred.
- Strong background in organizing and coordinating events, workshops, or forums, with a track record of successful execution.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to measure the effectiveness of events through feedback and adapt strategies based on results.
- Proficient in using digital tools for event promotion, communication, and data collection (e.g., social media, event management platforms, survey tools).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and audiences.
