Objective: To spearhead and manage Afrobeats Central's event programming and business development initiatives, focusing on creating and executing a diverse range of music events, "Colors"-style performances, and live shows featuring artists from the diaspora. The role involves strategic planning, business development, event coordination, and community engagement to enhance the company's market presence and support the growth of African music in the diaspora.

Key Job Functions

  1. Event Planning and Management:Conceptualize and organize music events, including parties and live shows, ensuring they align with Afrobeats Central’s mission. Coordinate logistics, from venue selection to artist booking and technical arrangements. Oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial viability.

  2. Artist Liaison and Programming: Identify and engage with artists from the diaspora and Nigeria, fostering relationships for future events and collaborations. Curate event line-ups that reflect the diversity and richness of African music. Manage artist engagments.

  3. Business Development and Market Expansion: Develop strategies to grow Afrobeats Central’s presence in the music event market. Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with cultural organizations, sponsors, and media platforms. Utilize market research to inform event programming and marketing strategies.

  4. Community Engagement and Outreach: Build relationships with the African diaspora communities, understanding their preferences and interests. Collaborate with community organizations to promote events and engage broader audiences. Leverage social media and digital platforms for event promotion and audience engagement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in event planning, artist management, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of African music, particularly Afrobeats, and the diaspora community.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in digital marketing and social media engagement.
  • Strong communication and networking abilities.
